Installation
- When you download a content pack, it should come in the form of a zip file.
- Inside of this zip file is a folder, which is the content pack.
- This folder needs to be extracted into the content_packs folder of the BY-GEN addon.
- Make sure you do not accidentally create a new folder directory for the pack when extracting, as this will prevent BY-GEN from importing the content.
- If you open the zip file using any tool (such as 7Zip shown above), just drag the folder into the content_packs directory, and that will extract it for you.
- It is a good idea to close Blender when installing content packs, however you can force BY-GEN to check for new content packs by pressing the refresh button above any effect selector.
- You can also press the folder icon as a shortcut to open the content_packs folder. This is the easiest way to find the folder where content packs need to be installed.
- Note: This button may not work on non-Windows systems.
Can’t Find content_pack Folder on Mac?
This page on the Blender documentation site will show you where to find your local user files on Windows, Mac and Linux.
The ~/Library folder may be hidden on your Mac system. To access this, you will need to unhide it on your system. Check this page to see how this is done.
